The UK “Indie Scene” (gross and inaccurate term, but most felicitous in this circumstance) has stagnated somewhat, it’s either janglely low-fi crap/ libertines rip offs, or lazy, low tempo electro-pop. And while we were resting on our laurels the US has caught-up and overtaken. The LA scene has produced some incredible bands recently - No Age, Health, The Smell to name but three. 

Health’s new album In Color (*or In Colour - you know, if you can spell properly) is the best thing I’ve heard since Merryweather Post Pavillion.
